Renata is a fifth-year psychology student. This will be her third year at PSA, last year she served as the VP Social. Renata hopes to attend graduate school at UBC. She enjoys creating and planning events where all psychology students can come together. She is passionate about volunteering at UBC, she is currently training to be a Peer Health Educator. Since she grew up away from home, she enjoys learning about different cultures and meeting new people. During her free time she likes to play sports, paint, and read. She believes that it is important to always be kind because you never know what anyone is going through.
VP of Social Affairs – Emi Oyakawa (email)

Emi is third-year student pursuing a double major in Psychology and Economics. This is her second year serving in PSA’s Social Committee. She enjoys planning and creating events where students can connect and enjoy themselves. She is passionate about community service, learning about different cultures and meeting new people. In her spare time Emi loves to read, dance and bake.xx
Jimmy is a third-year Psychology Honours student and is also minoring in Interpersonal Development (Counselling Psychology) under the faculty of Education. He is currently working at UBC Social Health Lab and conducting an independent research project under a faculty member supervision. Jimmy is passionate about psychopathy and its psychotherapy, in which he hopes to better the system and psychotherapy that overlook transgender, non-binary, and gender-nonconforming people’s diverse lived experiences. As a Thai person who lives away from home, he recognizes that being away from home can be stressful and overwhelming. Therefore, he hopes to create events that allow people to meet, connect, socialize and learn each other’s stories, with a hope to ease their stress and make their university journey more enjoyable. Jimmy also takes inclusion and diversity very seriously to make sure that he does not leave anyone on this journey alone. In his spare time, he loves reading a good book, cooking Thai food and volunteering at a non-profit organization.

Kaitlyn is a third-year undergraduate student pursuing a major in Psychology, and is particularly interested in and passionate about childhood development. She hopes to pursue developmental research throughout her undergraduate and graduate schooling. This will be Kaitlyn’s second year of involvement with the PSA, having served as VP External during the previous 2020/21 school year. In her free time, she likes to hike, hang out with her friends, and play with Bear, her golden retriever.

Kirsten is a fourth-year Psychology student and also minors in Commerce at UBC. This is her third year working with the PSA as she was a social committee member prior to her executive role in her first year. She is passionate about community service and working with children. As a result of growing up with both Western and Eastern cultural influences, she enjoys meeting and interacting with people of different backgrounds as well as travelling the world.
