President – Joshua Cunningham (email)

 

Bachelor of Science, Behavioural Neuroscience
Year: 4

 

Josh is a Behavioural Neuroscience student who is passionate about brain research and health, both in practice and policy. He is currently working in the Brain Research Center at the UBC Hospital and has held a previous position as a project manager for an environmental non-profit company called Evergreen. In his spare time Josh volunteers for St John’s Ambulance First Aid at events around Vancouver, as well as at Mount Saint Joseph Hospital in the Emergency Room. Before UBC, Josh spent his time playing in a rockband in Calgary.

VP Academics – Aakanksha Bhatia (email)

Year: 4

 

Aakanksha is a fourth-year Psychology major and is pursuing her minor in International Relations. This is her 3rd year of serving in the Academic Committee of PSA. Passionate about event management, she takes a special interest in connecting, meeting and learning from people of different cultures. She loves to spend her spare time in practising Indian Classical dance in which she has received formal training.

VP Social – Renata Morones (email)

Year: 3

 

Renata is a 3rd year psychology student, with a possible minor in International Relations. This will be her second year at PSA, last year she volunteered as a social committee member. Renata hopes to attend graduate school at UBC. She enjoys creating and planning events where all psychology students can come together. She is passionate about volunteering at UBC, she is currently training to be a Peer Health Educator. Since she grew up away from home, she enjoys learning about different cultures and meeting new people. During her free time she likes to play sports, paint, and read. She believes that it is important to always be kind because you never know what anyone is going through.

VP Internal – Kirsten Luk (email)

Year: 3

 

Kirsten is a 3rd year Psychology student and also minors in Commerce at UBC. This is her second year working with the PSA as she was a social committee member prior to her executive role. She is passionate about community service and working with children. As a result of growing up with both Western and Eastern cultural influences, she enjoys meeting and interacting with people of different backgrounds as well as travelling the world.

VP Marketing – Khushi Mehta (email)

Year: 3

 

Khushi is a third-year student studying Psychology with a possible minor in Spanish. Khushi works in the Culture and Self Lab. She enjoys learning more about different cultures, especially through their food and art forms, while also learning more about their interactions with modern-day technology. In her free time, you will find her drinking coffee while working on multiple student-led projects related to mental health. She is always open to talk to new people about anything and everything because she believes that there is something to be learned from everyone.

Kaitlyn is a 2nd year Arts Undergraduate planning on majoring in Cognitive Systems (with a specialty in the Brain and Cognition Psychology stream) and minoring in Psychology (with a specialty yet to be decided). She also hopes to attend Graduate School after finishing her Undergraduate studies at UBC. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, reading, listening to music, and spending time with her golden retriever named Bear.

VP Communications – Christine Seo (email)

 

Bachelor of Science, Behavioural Neuroscience
Year: 5

 

Christine is a 5th year student majoring in Behavioural Neuroscience. This is her second year being involved in the PSA, having been an academic committee member in the 2017-2018 school year. She has spent her third school year on exchange studying neuroscience at University College London in the UK. She is currently a research assistant in the Social Health Lab, a position she held prior to her year in London, and a volunteer for the Let’s Talk Science program, through which she visits an elementary school to teach students about science. In her spare time, Christine loves to travel, exploring cities to find the best locations for afternoon tea and desserts.
